Picture of a Plankton Bloom

This is a picture of what a plankton bloom looks like from above the earth. You can easily see the characteristic bright green color of the plankton bloom. This is exactly the sort of plankton vortex that Marine Plasma supplements are taken from.

Seaweed an Anti-Inflammatory

There are lots of things on this planet that grow naturally and provide us with all the medicine we could ever need to help heal ourselves and stay healthy in the long run. It seems that the sea has offered up an anti-inflammatory in the form of seaweed. There is also evidence that algae from the sea is an anti-inflammatory as well. Here's the link to an abstract on a research study on wintsar rats with edema that showed algae had a beneficial effect on the swelling.

The marine mixture used on the rats was injected and there are marine plasma supplements available that can be injected such as Quinton Original. You'll need a doctor's permission to get it though.

Thalassotherapy and the skin

Our skin is the largest organ of the human body. No doubt many have learned that fun trivia fact in early schooling years, but as we get older I think we tend to forget just how important skin is in protecting and healing the human body. It provides protection from the sun's radiation and just the everyday grit and grime that wouldn't feel too good on muscles and bones without skin.

It also helps our bodies get rid of its own toxins through millions of tiny pores all over the skin's surface. Sometimes the skin can be harmed by toxins from the environment or even clogged with our own toxins.

That's where Thalassotherapy can come in. 'Thalasso' comes from the greek for sea and we all know what 'therapy' means. I've mentioned it before but seawater can be great for the skin. Nearly everyone knows that gargling with seawater can help to fight infection and heal canker sores or infected tonsils. Imagine what it can do for those small cuts and abrasions on the rest of the skin.

Here's a link the post at Life Technology with lots more information on thalassotherapy. The formating is a little funky but you should find it useful.

Atherosclerosis and Deep Seawater

Scientists are having a bit of a debate over whether deep seawater is better for you than surface seawater. There are plenty of seawater products and lots of different companies putting them out there.

Here's a recent research study comparing the efficacy of deep seawater to surface seawater in the treatment of atherosclerosis. (warning its a pdf.) Of course there's also the Marine plasma subtance that's used by many for the treatment of everything from psoriasis to joint pain. As I mentioned before Marine plasma is the substance created by plankton in plankton vortexs deep in the ocean.

Qoute about Seawater and its benefits

All of us have in our veins the exact same percentage of salt in our blood that exists in the ocean, and, therefore, we have salt in our blood, in our sweat, in our tears. We are tied to the ocean. And when we go back to the sea -- whether it is to sail or to watch it -- we are going back from whence we came.

John F. Kennedy (1917 - 1963), Speech given at Newport at the dinner before the America's Cup Races, September 1962

The exact same substances that are found in marine plasma are found in our blood, in about the same percentages and amounts. How can seawater not be good for helping the body stay balanced and healthy?

No Need to Fear the Use of Seawater Supplements

Now I've been mentioning a lot about drinking seawater and gargling seawater for your health and I'm certain that someone is going to pop a comment on this blog that goes something like 'Yes, but drinking seawater can kill you...' which is true. I don't suggest anyone start using seawater straight from the ocean in their homeopathic remedies.

The seawater products sold for use as supplements by companies like Original Quinton have been sterilized and have had the salt removed to eliminate the risk of dehydration.

In addition the original quinton isotonics and hypertonics are dosed in such small amounts that you won't need to worry about the possibility of dehydration or other illnesses resulting from drinking seawater. Read more on it at

Treat those Allergies with Saltwater

Its that allergy season time of year again and I know that many like myself are succumbing to the effects of pollen and other environment factors that cause the symptoms of allergies.

How do you know if you have allergies?

Well, if you sneeze, wheeze and feel generally uneasy during warmer outdoor weather or even if you feel like this indoors you probably have an allergy. One big way to tell if its allergies and not just a cold is, if you start feeling better as soon as you remove yourself from the environment where you started feeling sick.

Make it Better!

Research has shown that you can use a saline nasal solution to help reduce swelling, inflammation and excess mucous caused by allergies. The hypertonic solution sold by Original Quinton is just such a solution that can be used regularly to help fight the symptoms of allergies.

How Should One Take Seawater?

There are three different ways that you can take seawater or marine plasma. You can drink it, apply it topically or inject it. If you need it injected you should definitely have your doctor perform that particular service.

Now this doesn't apply to water taken straight from the ocean. Don't be under the impression that's what companies like Original Quinton do, take seawater and just sell it unprocessed. No, Quinton cold-process microfilters the Marine plasma that it takes from the ocean in order to clean out the impurities and make sure its safe to give to patients. Other possible methods for sterilizing seawater include heat pasturization and UV radiation which are both cheaper, so a lot of other companies use them, but they will destroy the plankton and nutrients that make this stuff so helpful.

Video on Plankton Blooms and Marine Plasma

Look to this video link at Original Quinton.com to learn all about the plankton life in the sea that create those amazing plankton blooms. Biocenosis its called, I believe.

The video is a few minutes long, so get the popcorn out and sit back for an enjoyable entertainment interlude during your day.

Seawater for skin conditions

I've recently found a great post on seawater therapy at Life Technology. Apparently seawater has been used for thousands of years to help heal those with health problems, especially skin problems.

Just as Dr. Rene Quinton found that eczema sores respond well to Marine plasma it seems lots of skin conditions can be treated with the stuff. You can see some great research on the topic at the Original Quinton website.

Essay post on Seawater/Original Quinton

The blog, Food for Thought with Adam has a great essay posted on seawater and how Dr. Rene Quinton first discovered it was very similar to our own mammelian blood plasma. His deductions led the way to a lot of great health discoveries.

Here's a brief excerpt from the essay on the blog:

Babies were brought back from near death from cholera and other causes; cadaver-like bodies filled out to healthy plumpness; raw, weeping skin from eczema made smooth and lesion free all by the power of seawater.

Written by Mark Sircus, Ac., OMD, author of Transdermal Magnesium Therapy.

I think I also read that the similarities between our own blood plasma and the contents of ocean water helped serve as one of the proofs that our distant ancestors evolved from the ocean. This marine plasma is amazing stuff!

Marine Plasma can Replenish the Minerals you can't get from Veggies

In my last post I mentioned that people can get many of the essential minerals they need from taking Seawater or Marine Plasma supplements. However, many readers have probably thought, 'well, I eat plenty of vegetables and they provide me with all the minerals I'll ever need.' Its true that vegetables, especially the tubers will store minerals from the soil, but its also true that vegetables from today's soil don't have as many minerals as vegetables from the soil of say 100 years ago.

You'll see in this pdf. document that concerns in the United States senate are growing over this simple fact. Why? Because the overfarming of soil combined with the push to increase the size of vegetables with hormones and water are creating veggies that can't possibly provide us with enough minerals to meet our daily needs.

So, Marine Plasma starts looking like a pretty good supplement to your diet. In particular plasma sold by Original Quinton, which probably has the highest concentration of these essential minerals.

Marine Plasma is the Stuff that Helps Your Body!

Seawater, of course from the sea, is good to use as a supplement because it contains lots of minerals. In particular, I've learned that there are places in the world's oceans where plankton colonies form a sort of vortex. Seawater or Marine Plasma from these vortexs contains even more minerals and beneficial elements because of the swirling action in the vortex that drags up minerals from deep in the ocean.

Our bodies need these minerals just as much and perhaps even more than we need vitamins. Okay, maybe that's an even tie, but minerals are just as important to the health of the human body. We need calcium for our bones, iron for our blood and so on and many vitamin supplements overlook this need for minerals. So its best to look into a mineral supplement for your health such as Marine Plasma

Hi all!

This is the very first post of a blog that will hopefully provide all with lots of great information on benefits of seawater. I know it sounds a little unusual, but there is lots of research showing that seawater taken from specific plankton vortexes in the ocean can help to restore the body and mind, along with keeping you healthy.

In fact, one doctor, Roy Dittman has a theory that man's evolution to where we are now is the result of returning to the sea by taking up the practice of fishing!
